Jazz artist sings at Pinecrest Gardens' Banyan Bowl

Jazz Singer Nicole Henry treated a Pinecrest Gardens audience to a beautiful, intimate performance on January 7.  The crowd included hipsters in their late twenties to more experienced fans pushing their mid-sixties.  “Awesome,” exclaimed Ivan Mladenovic, a 20-something computer tech, who came with a date.  “Nicole Henry is the real deal.  We had a blast.”

Henry’s appearance was a fundraiser, put together by the Community Foundation of Pinecrest, to benefit Pinecrest Gardens’ effort to remodel the Banyan Bowl.  “The Banyan Bowl is a hidden treasure in this neighborhood,” says Steven Beiley, Chairman of the Community Foundation. “More of our neighbors need to experience a performance at this venue, because it’s truly magical.”

More than 300 people were on hand for a mix of jazz favorites under the stars on a picture perfect South Florida night.  In addition, the concert raised nearly $3,000 to help pay for improvements to the Banyan Bowl.
